SuSE Linux 6.4SuSE Linux 6.4

Suse might not be a newcomer's dream-comer true like Caldera, but it is almost as easy to install. It can be installed to DOS or Windows partitions with the partition manager included with it. You have to manually create a Linux partition using the FIPS utility that lets you split an existing Windows partition with free space to create a new partition.

Setup is quite smooth and SuSe detects most hardware perfectly and has a high level of integration between the application and the whole of the OS. All the applications available in the six different CDs can be selected from one unified interface, and installed in the same way. The application library is nothing less than an encyclopedia, and gives you an idea of how vast the Linux community is. The full install of SuSe takes more than 5-6 GB of hard disk space, although you would rarely need all of it. Even though there are so many packages, the categorization of packages is perfect. SuSe contains a host of linux games, demos and full versions, and not only this, 3D graphics support comes preset in SuSe. Collaborating with Window is also simple with Samba.

Overall it is best choice for both the power user or the geeks, as you get many toy's to play with and your system still performs perfectly. Even if you are new user you can get going with Quick Install.
